Synapse for iPhone and iPad
Synapse: Neurocritical Care
Neurocritical care board review that schedules itself: guideline-anchored cards, bedside ultrasound courses and study guides, all on your device.
One-time purchase. No subscription. No account. See the App Store for pricing in your region.

Who it is for
Physicians preparing for the neurocritical care certification examinations offered by UCNS and by ABPN. Both examination blueprints are built into the app as exam profiles; you choose one, and the app weights topics the way that board does. The app is an independent educational resource and is not affiliated with either board.

- A sample session runs once before purchase: a few cards and two course pages, so you can see how studying feels before you buy.
How it works
-

Study
One card at a time. Grade it Again, Hard, Good or Easy; the scheduler decides when you see it next.
-

Topics
Every topic, grouped by blueprint area and weighted the way your chosen board weights it. Review any topic on its own.
-

Learn
The ultrasound courses, their clips, and the PDF study guides, all stored in the app.
-

Clips
Bedside ultrasound clips with the finding labelled, from the heart and lung courses. Stored in the app, so they play offline.
-

Study guides
One-page PDF references, each dated to its guideline. Keep them, print them, share them for personal study.
-
Progress
A retention estimate and your review history, computed on the device from your own grades.

Why it is different
- Guideline-anchored. Cards are written against named guidelines and primary sources, and the app shows the date the content was last reviewed.
- Citations you can open. Tap a citation and the source opens in a browser inside the app.
- FSRS scheduling. The same open spaced-repetition algorithm used by serious flashcard software, tuned by the grades you give.
- Works offline. Everything except the purchase itself and opening a citation works without a connection.
- Nothing leaves the device. No account, no sync, no analytics. Your study data is yours. See the privacy policy.
